After a long time of uncertainty it’s been confirmed! Seems like so long ago that I was hanging onto the words in every lecture just hoping for the merest mention of the introduction of the erasmus process (I was actually paying attention to the topics being discussed too, believe it or not). When the first erasmus meeting came about, I thought this is it, the epitome of this whole course is just beginning. Ambitious? Or just procrastinating the looming inevitability that one day I’ll be churned out into the “real world” for good?
My original location choices were Arizona and Iceland, and then for a second it was Berlin (it’s not that I’m incredibly indecisive, honest - just that there wasn’t as much application help on offer as I’d imagined) BUT after a lot of google image searching and other research, I seem to have ended up with a rather beautiful country at my feet. Or will have in September. at first I was sceptical as to how isolated this particular university seemed, and that a friend on my course in Coventry would be joining me as I originally wanted to go it alone, but I thought as it is such a small campus it would be comforting to have a familiar face there and share most of the experience together.
Throughout this year I don’t only want to explore and hopefully improve my art works, but further myself as a person - preferably in a positive way - discovering more about myself and where I’m going.
I have been searching for Facebook pages and groups centred around erasmus schemes in Switzerland but so far not much luck, as most i do find are not up to date… Maybe this is a sign we should take the initiative and create one!
